Statement - Between Heaven and Earth
In this series of digital constructions, I re-interpret the landscape of the natural world as a reflection of inner self. Dualities of creation and destruction, illusion and reality exist in nature and within us. I represent my experience of nature as a beautiful, saturated and complex reverie, a fantastical garden in which we’re both caretakers and destroyers. While in the distance, foreboding skies hint at a coming storm.
By compositing images of nature, sky and earth, a new reality is conjured. One that evokes the idea of a paradise lost, our increasing disconnection from sensory experience of the natural world, diminishing wild space and the destruction of our environment.
