Statement -  Periphery
This series depicts transitional spaces in and around the ancient town of Santanyi, Mallorca. The town is contained by a network of boundaries and walls. Some of the crumbling stone boundaries are the remains of walls that encircled the village in medieval times. Others are makeshift wire fencing or simple but intentional piles of rock. The town is beautiful, neat and tidy, with golden-hued limestone architecture. Moving toward the periphery, the transitional space is equally beautiful. Green and untended, it’s as if the landscape were trying to find its way back in.
